For the first time in Russia the procedure of additional marking of the vehicle was carried out. The object was a car that was stolen. After returning it to the owner, there were changes in the markings by the kidnappers.

Traffic police officers conducted the necessary research for the identification of the vehicle. As a result, it was decided to carry out additional marking.

When it is held

Recall that on the first day of 2020, the resolution "on approval of requirements for additional vehicle marking, the procedure for its application and application"came into force. The decree stipulates that vehicles are subject to re-marking, the designations of the VIN numbers of which were damaged as a result of:

• corrosion resistance;
• accidents;
• repair work with the replacement of body parts;
• forgery of marks due to illegal actions.

By whom is carried out

According to the established regulations, only organizations that have accreditation and are included in the Register of members of the Eurasian Union have the right to conduct the procedure. These are certification bodies, Vehicle Manufacturing Plants, Research Laboratories.

The enterprise in the Moscow region, being a car manufacturer, was authorized for the first time to re-label.

Public reaction

Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate believe that the procedure will greatly simplify the system, since the need for additional examinations will be eliminated.
